I Finished Insanity!
Two months ago, I put myself to the challenge of completing a 60-day period of enduring hell also known as the Beachbody Insanity program. If you haven’t seen the promos on late-night TV, it is a cardio conditioning program led by instructor Shaun T. that utilizes what he likes to call “interval training.” Interval training is a kind of fitness exercise where, at certain intervals, you want to die.
Here is my before and after:
To be honest, I don’t think that picture does justice to the blood, sweat, and tears I’ve shed for 4 fortnights. In the first image I weighed 137 pounds and couldn’t make it through the warm-up without gasping for air. In exhibit B, I am now 153 pounds with a resting heart-rate at 62bpm (which I think is pretty decent for my age and life history).
Anyone looking to improve their cardio should give Insanity a try, but I’ll caution it is not for the faint of heart. ;-) Up next is p90x.
